You’ll need to have a live app published in the Marketplace before applying. Your app offers unique functionality not already in Canva It meets our quality and design standards
I’m wondering if products that have previously won the App Adoption Awards are considered ineligible, since I saw that it’s not allowed to participate in two programs at the same time.
My plan is to first submit my product, and then apply for the Premium Apps Program. If my application is accepted, I will proceed to update my product to include buttons with Premium functionality.
If you’ve previously won an App Adoption Award — no worries. You’re still eligible to apply for the Premium Apps Program. If you’re accepted, you won’t be able to earn future App Adoption Awards, but you’ll get access to new Premium benefits.
Sounds like a plan! Your app needs to be live on the App Marketplace to be considered for the Premium Apps Program. If accepted, we’ll send you the documentation you’ll need to update your app for the program.
Hey @Matty_Giuffre - I’m new to the ecosystem and considering building some apps for Canva. The Premium Apps Program is interesting. Is there some transparency around the revenue model? The page on the developers site doesn’t have any specifics. Feel free to message directly if it’s not shared publicly at this stage.
Rates and pricing models are negotiated directly with the developer. Our standard practice is a Pay-Per-Use model. We’ll pay a developer out every time their app’s premium functionality is used.
Feel free to DM me with more questions or alternatively submit your app for the Premium Apps Program!
