We are removing support for deprecated APIs in the Apps SDK

Hey everyone,

A quick heads up that we’re removing support for several deprecated APIs following the 6-month deprecation period as per our deprecation policy.

What this means:

  • The following APIs will be removed from the SDK in the coming weeks. After they’re removed, apps will no longer be able to call them:

    • makeDraggable

    • startDrag

    • getDefaultPageDimensions

    • addNativeElement

  • Any apps that continue to use these APIs after their removal may be taken off the App Marketplace.

No action is required if your app does not use any of the above mentioned APIs. If your app uses a deprecated APIs, you will need to replace it with one of the replacement APIs below.

Use these replacement APIs:

  • makeDraggable or startDrag → startDragToPoint or startDragToCursor (startDragToCursor is compatible with documents)

  • getDefaultPageDimensions → getCurrentPageContext

  • addNativeElement → addElementAtPoint or addElementAtCursor (addElementAtCursor is compatible with documents)

If you’re also migrating from v1 of the Apps SDK to v2, refer to the migration guide for guidance on replacing deprecated APIs.

If you have any questions, please post in our Developer Community or contact the Dev Support team through Jira.
