App review delays

Hi Rory, thanks for sharing this. Do we have an estimated timeline on when we can expect reviews of apps to be back to usual?

Hi @shivaskanthan we can’t do an estimate for now as we’re reviewing 70+ apps at the moment, but we’ll update this thread once all reviews are back to normal. I do apologize if we can’t do an estimate for now. :frowning:

Hi Chad,

Hope you remember the previous task you helped me with regarding the delay. Every time I update this product, I get delayed at least a month for each time it goes into the review function. This is really discouraging me and making me lose confidence in the product. Does Canva have any way to help me with this issue? Because it seems like only this task workflow is consistently delayed for at least a month. My other products don’t experience delays this long.

They responded on the 10th and told me to wait, which is funny because there’s no information about what I’m waiting for.

Hi @chadv , we’re also concerned about the review process… we have been trying to get one app confirmed since May 18. Two times we were rejected because it had been so long in the review process the UI kit had updated while we’d been waiting, and we had to resubmit… which seems to reset us in the queue. Is there any way to expedite the process on our one app we’ve been waiting over 4 months now for? JIRA ID APPS-12670

I realize your team is flooded with apps for review but I feel 4 months is more patience than our peers have needed (maybe I’m wrong). I’m still very excited about having our app officially on the platform, though it’s been challenging to keep our team excited all these months later!

Thank you Chad, I wasn’t able to find a way to DM you through the board here, but I did get a reply from Abi with some notes rejecting it due to the ui kit being deprecated again (frustrating! we can never be current due to the long delays!) and one accessibility issue we will resolve tomorrow. Appreciate the attention to our submission and we will resubmit quickly.

No offense, but if it were Abi, congrats to you. If you’re as patient as I am, you can search for the posts I’ve made. Every time an update is needed, I have to wait at least 2 months, then post asking Chad to find Abi (I understand it’s not Chad’s responsibility, so messaging him is unreasonable since everyone has their own tasks). I’ve had to abandon an idea because I couldn’t wait any longer.

Hi Canva team, I’m getting complaints from users about my app not being updated and unfixed bugs. This is causing them to request refunds on payments. Not a great feeling for me given my app was submitted for review almost a month ago. Is it possible to get an update on the expected review time for APPS-12506?

Definitely need more help from Canva for existing apps since users are expecting regular improvements to justify paying for it.

Hi Canva team, we are experiencing the same frustrations as many developers above. We have been trying to push out a minor update to our app for the past month and a half. Our users are waiting for the bug fixes in the update. Our app is currently in the design review phase, but there has not been any progress or updates, and nobody is replying to our emails to Jira. I see that due to the inexplicably long wait times in the review process, a new UI Kit has been released since we submitted our last build. I assume this will cause our app to fail the design review and get thrown back to the start of the review process. This is an extremely frustrating cycle. Is there any way to avoid this? Our app is Xposure, and the Jira id is APPS-14652.
