We’ve got something big to share!
We’re excited to announce that the Apps SDK now supports Autofill and Brand Templates in Beta.
With this update, apps can now:
Open a Canva panel for users to select Brand Templates, read their metadata, and apply them to a design.
Open the new Autofill panel to match design elements to data fields.
Autofill a design using data from a connector app, or programmatically through the SDK - to create a single design or multiple designs in bulk.
Best part? Apps can also use Canva’s native AI data-field matching flow, so developers don’t need to build matching from scratch.
We’re aiming to move these APIs to GA later in September / October, and they will be gated to Pro+ users.
As a reminder, apps using Beta APIs can’t be released on the Canva Apps Marketplace yet, but they can be used in private apps.
